What are eBooks?
 
eBooks are simply electronic copies of regular, printed books and are normally chaptered and indexed in much the same way.

However eBooks offer many benefits over standard paper based titles. For instance they are:

  • Immediately accessible - no waiting days for delivery
  • Searchable
  • Most can be bookmarked
  • You can make notes on them
  • Thanks to modern mobile devices they're now more portable than heavy printed books.

You can store a whole library of eBooks on your desktop, laptop or a hand-held device, keeping essential references right with you when traveling or working away.

To enable you to read eBooks you will need a small piece of free software known as an eBook Reader. The software used to read eBooks is free. However the format of eBook you opt to buy will depend on the device you want to read the book with - eg a Palm PDA, Windows Mobile PDA, or laptop/desktop computer.
